The ‘L’Etoile du Nord’ nursery school, run by the Rene Moawad Foundation in Mejdlaya (Zgharta), held its traditional event to celebrate Independence Day. This year, the celebrations included exciting and creative ideas executed by the little children.
The person in charge of the nursery school, Noëlie Fenianos, explained: “We decided to celebrate the Independence Day this year differently, by presenting the Lebanese flag in a special way in which the children’s educational materials are used. This had an educational message in which we wanted to emphasize that the young generation, through the knowledge that it is gathering, can determine its own vision of Lebanon.”
She continued: “We executed this idea by designing the Lebanese flag with LEGO blocks and the educational materials used by the kids. They themselves decorated the flag and the handkerchiefs on which they sticked the Lebanese Cedar and printed their hands.”
And she concluded: “The children wanted to express through this activity that they are the ones designing Lebanon’s future according to their own vision and own perception.”
