The president of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad criticized the parade held by the Syrian Social Nationalist Party in Hamra (Beirut). He wrote on his Twitter account:
“The Syrian Social Nationalist Party’s parade in Hamra, just meters from the Ministry of Interior’s headquarters is an act of insolence towards Sovereignty and the State’s status. It showed flagrant disrespect to the Constitution and the country’s Institutions.”
He added:
“The Government should not stay watching with folded arms. Immediate measures must be taken. The State’s services and the judicial instances must act, so that such examples of ‘No-State’ don’t get repeated. That would lead to the whole State’s structure collapsing on everyone’s head.”
