Following MP Setrida Geagea’s apologies about the offending words she said regarding the people of Zgharta, the president of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad tweeted:

“In the name of the Zgharta-Zawiyat people, I welcome MP Setrida Geagea’s bravery in presenting her apologies. There are no chances from today onwards for any dividing element between Bcharre and Zgharta to be revived. We will stay united, defending together a strong, sovereign, free and independent Lebanese State.”

Moawad had earlier requested MP Setrida Geagea to present an apology to all the Zgharta-Zawiyat people, as her words were not acceptable by any means, and required a clarification.”
