The president of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad announced:
“Just as I had promised you, and as the Minister of Energy had also promised, the Al Charnadi project has now been subcontracted. A delegation from the ministry, along with the contractor, representatives from the municipalities, the Union of municipalities and RMF, made a field-visit and checked the situation on the ground. In a few days, the Alma-Fawwar-Badawi collector project will be subcontracted as well!”

Moawad also revealed that “upon his request, the Minister of Energy promised that the last area in Zgharta that was still supplied from Kadisha electricity will be transferred to Electricité du Liban (EDL), the State’s electricity company. This will ease the suffering of the citizens caused by extreme power rationing, and will alleviate the bills they have to pay to the private power generators’ owners.”
