The leader of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad welcomed the Cabinet’s statement on the policy of dissociation. He posted on his official Twitter account:
“The Cabinet’s statement is positive. It constitutes an important basis for the policy of dissociation towards regional conflicts, and for relying on the Taëf Accord and on international resolutions to resuscitate a strong State.”

In another tweet, he added:
“The important element lies in the implementation of the statement. This compliance will confirm the concern of all the parties in maintaining Lebanon’s dissociation from conflicts, protecting our country and avoiding getting drawn into regional power games.”
