The president of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad commented on the court interrogations instigated against journalist Marcel Ghanem, and the issue of the Press Freedom in Lebanon that it has stirred up. He posted on his social media accounts:

“When it comes to public freedoms and Freedom of Press, there is no place for compromise. I express an unquestionable solidarity with Marcel Ghanem, Jean Feghali, the LBC and all media people. My supportive stand is based on my respect to our Constitution and our democratic regime, and on loyalty towards those who were martyred in order to preserve Freedom in Lebanon.”

“Following the last court hearing, I hope that the case is now on the right track for being rectified.”
