Tweeting on his Twitter account, the president of the ‘Independence Movement’ Michel Moawad said:

“I have contacted the ‘High Relief Commission’ to follow up on the last storm’s indemnities matter. General Mohamad Kheir informed me that the municipalities have been instructed to do a first survey, which will be followed by a field investigation by the commission. He also reassured me that he will not allow any politicization in the matter.”

Moawad added:

“I will follow-up with the municipalities work and will stay in touch with the concerned instances to check on the transparency of the procedures and criteria. I ask anyone who is subject to any prejudice to contact my office on the matter.”
