The Resigned member of the Lebanese Parliament and President of the Independence Movement, Michel Moawad, tweeted: “What is happening in Tripoli has completely exposed the political class. The people of Tripoli have a right to protest against hunger and poverty, and for the treatment of their pain, their conditions should be seen socioeconomically, not as a security issue.

Adding: “in light of the failure of all remedies, the only solution has become for the ruling class to leave and make room for real change. I am in solidarity with the people of Tripoli, and may God protect Lebanon.”
