Head of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad said in a tweet that inciting the murder of journalists is an unprecedented form of terrorism that wouldn’t thwart members of the press from pursuing their struggle for freedom.
“Spilling the blood of journalists and incitement to murder is an unprecedented form of terrorism that won’t stop freedom fighters from pursuing their struggle. I voice my strong support for Hanin Ghaddar,” the tweet read.
In a separate development, Moawad met at his residence in Baabda with Australian Burwood city mayor John Faker. Discussions tackled the promotion of bilateral cooperation between Australian and Lebanese municipalities and the state of affairs of Lebanese expatriates in Australia.
The meeting was attended by Ghassan Moawad, head of the Imar municipal council and Antoine Ibrahim, a representative of the Independence Movement in Australia.
