The Rene Moawad Foundation held a workshop on women’s rights with the participation of more than 20 individuals from several northern towns and villages.
The workshop, which is part of a larger project aimed at improving the livelihood for underprivileged women in North Lebanon, is funded by the European Union and is being implemented by BIAT, the Rene Moawad foundation, Digital Opportunity Trust-Lebanon (DOT) and local development agency MADA.
Discussions were mainly focused on the need to draft an action plan to defend women’s rights. During the workshop, Director of the Arab Institute for Human Rights Joumana Merhi stressed the importance of fighting discrimination against women in line with the Charter of Human Rights.
