Head of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad said Friday that dialogue between the Future Movement and Hezbollah should pave the way for the implementation of a comprehensive security plan across Lebanon.
“Dialogue should put an end to double standards when it comes to the implementation of security measures and allow the state to impose its authority across Lebanese territory,” Moawad said after a meeting with Interior Minister Nuhad Machnouq.
“We can no longer accept that criminals threaten the safety and security of the Lebanese people. Security institutions should implement the law and crackdown on violations across Lebanese territory. It is also unacceptable that certain armed groups provide protection to those who are responsible for political assassinations,” Moawad added.
