The local committee on women’s rights in Kfarhabo and Mechmech discussed the third report on discrimination against women in Lebanese laws during two meetings held on May 14 and 16.

The meeting was part of a project to “improve the living standards of women in north Lebanon.” The program is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Rene Moawad foundation in cooperation with DOT-Lebanon and MADA association.

Discussions focused on the amendment of the nationality law, penal code, personal status law, and labor and social security laws to defend women’s rights and protect them against domestic violence.
