Independence Movement leader Michel Moawad criticized the Cabinet Tuesday for refusing to support former Minister Ghassan Salameh’s bid to head the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Instead, the Cabinet has supported the nomination of an “unheard of candidate,” Moawad added.
“The Cabinet’s decision is shameful and represents a new chapter of its long history of corruption and failure,” Moawad argued.
“The Cabinet is nominating a candidate who resembles it and reflects its corruption and failure. The Lebanese choose Ghassan Salameh as their candidate,” Moawad tweeted.
