Head of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Lebanon Anne Peterson paid a visit Thursday to the Rene Moawad foundation’s offices in Achrafieh where she was welcomed by former Social Affairs Minister and President of the Rene Moawad Foundation Nayla Moawad along with the organization’s Executive Director Michel Moawad.
The meeting was attended by Natasha Marchilian, director of the Building Alliance for Local Advancement and Investment (Baladi) program and her deputy Ms. Rachel Mallah along with Linda Khalifa, head of the communications and networking division.
The Baladi program, a five-year program initiated by USAID, aims at encouraging municipalities in cooperation with local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and civil society groupto prepare well-designed community projects for possible funding from USAID.
The attendees discussed the latest projects undertaken under the umbrella of the Baladi program.
