The president of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad tweeted on his personal Twitter account:

“Afif Jaafar joins Shadi Al Hajj in less than 24 hours as a new martyr for the Security Forces, which keeps offering the pure body of its members to protect Lebanon and the Lebanese.”

He added:
“May the soul of martyr Afif Jaafar rest in peace, and my condolences to his family and his institution…”
