Commenting on the inclusion of a draft law to the agenda of the Parliamentary Assembly’s meeting next Thursday, for a new extension of the Parliament’s mandate, the president of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad tweeted on his personal Twitter account:
“By principle, our position is always against extensions. Any additional extension for the Parliament is constitutionally void. It constitutes a confiscation of the Lebanese’s will and is a mark of disgrace for democracy.”
He added: “Ironically, it is MP Nicolas Fattoush, who has been spreading his poisons in Mount Lebanon, who is trying to spread the poison of a new extension for the Parliament, by proposing a law which resembles his quarry.”
