The Information Office of the President of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad issued the following statement:

As an answer to the fabrication of stories perpetrated by the Lebanondebate.com website, along with imaginary ‘film-stories’ and the fabrication of accusations that aim to cause personal harm and political defamation,
and after these fabrication reached the level of offending dignities and breaching sanctities through the propagation of deceitful and fabricated information that claim “the existence of video and audio recordings that reveal the close relationship between a former Syrian Intelligence officer and a number of Lebanese political personalities, amongst whom Mrs. Nayla Moawad and Mr. Michel Moawad”,
Mrs. Nayla Moawad and Mr. Michel Moawad filed a legal complaint before the Public Prosecutor against the Lebanondebate.com website and its operator Michel Kanbour. The complaint was presented by the parties’ attorney Romanos Moawad, and asked for the maximum penalties to be imposed, in accordance with the Lebanese laws.
