The President of “The Independence Movement”, the resigned MP, Michel Moawad tweeted: “The explosion of Port of Beirut shows the deterioration of the governing authority and urges for a radical change. One cannot believe that five weeks after the explosion, persons in direct relation with the explosion are not arrested yet and a comprehensive survey is not held in the port, its warehouses, depots, containers and quays.”

He added: “The issue is not about negligence or mismanagement anymore, but it is about Lebanese politicians henceforth endangering the Lebanese people’s lives, properties and institutions.”
