Head of Independence Movement Michel Moawad celebrated Palm Sunday in his hometown Zghorta where believers attended mass celebrations before marching in processions to commemorate the triumphant entrance of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem.

Church bells rang across the town as believers held candles and olive leaves, chanting prayers to express their joy and glorify Jesus.

Moawad, his mother former Social Affairs Minister Nayla and members of his family attended mass at Saint John Church. Father Stephan Franjieh presided over the Palm Sunday Mass.
