Rene Moawad Foundation holds ceremony at Bab al-Tabaneh school

The René Moawad Foundation will hold a ceremony marking the end of the academic year at the Bab al-Tabbaneh elementary school in Tripoli as part of a child labor prevention program funded by the US embassy in Lebanon.

The ceremony, which will include the distribution of gifts to all students will be held on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at 10 a.m.

The program includes the following activities:

 

In the school theater (55 minutes):

1 – Lebanese national anthem

2 – A speech by children (5 minutes)

– A speech by a representative of the Rene Moawad Foundation (5 minutes)

– A speech by a representative of the U.S. Embassy – Small Grants Program (5 minutes)

3 – Religious songs by male students of the seventh grade (7 minutes)

4 – A song by students of the fourth and fifth grade to tribute their teachers (3 minutes)

5 – A dialogue session between children and parents (6 minutes)

6 – A Rap song performed by two children of the seventh grade expressing the suffering of students due to the conflict in the areas of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen ( 5 minutes)

7 –A Break Dance by students (7 minutes)

8 – The presentation of awards to outstanding students and the distribution of gifts to all participants (10 minutes)

In the school playground (30 minutes):

–  Children showcase some items that they have built during the academic year (5 minutes)

– Wall painting by students to promote peace

– A large painting or Maquette by children to express peace

– Games for children (to promote awareness on child rights)
