Head of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad paid tribute Thursday to late scholar Hani Fahs who passed away, succumbing to a long illness.

Moawad said Lebanon lost a man of science and moderation, stressing that Fahs was an advocate of love and dialogue among the Lebanese.

Moawad conveyed his condolences to Fahs’ family, voicing hope that the late scholar’s cultural, religious and scientific legacy inspires the Lebanese and Arabs during the difficult times that the region is witnessing.
