A delegation from the AUB Ladies League paid a visit to the Rene Moawad Foundation Campus in Mejdlaya, Zgharta, where they met H.E. Mrs. Nayla Moawad and Mrs. Marielle Michel Moawad.

Welcoming the delegation, Mrs. Nayla Moawad gave an overview about the foundation, its goals and role. She also spoke about the values and convictions that Martyr-President Rene Moawad upheld, about his presidential program as an elected President of the Republic, and about his belief in the one National Identity for all the Lebanese regardless of their diversity.
Mrs. Moawad stressed that President Moawad was ‘convinced that he wouldn’t succeed in achieving these goals without work on the Educational aspect. As education is the foundation and the capital for human beings to be able to live in an environment that offers balanced development.’
She added: ‘Time proved that his thinking was correct, as we see today that a citizen who is illiterate, who is enduring a difficult financial situation and who lives in an environment that does not provide him with his basic needs, is more vulnerable to become a potential terrorist.’
And she concluded: ‘The activities and projects undertaken by RMF always encompassed all the Lebanese regions and served the whole of Lebanon, as the foundation always believed in the principles and values of President Moawad and his national mission. Any wavering from these values would be a betrayal to him.’

Boutros
Journalist Josette Moawad Boutros, who is the representative of the foundation in this program, presented a photographic presentation in which she highlighted the main achievements of RMF in the various fields of Agriculture, Education, Health and Local Authorities.’

Bou Dalah
Entrepreneur Sahar Bou Dalah then related her personal story of success at the foundation. She testified on how the skill building courses, trainings and exposure to the markets services, offered by RMF had transformed her into a successful business-woman.

Masaad
This was followed by a film-presentation by writer Barbara Masaad on the making of the Darfieh cheese, which was filmed in Batliyeh, Ehden. Mr Maroun Duwaihi explained the steps of making the Darfieh cheese as was shown in the film.
